Stage 2 – Community Meeting / Part 1: In-Person Input from Community

The online voting period for artist selection for your neighborhood has ended and the results have been tallied!

The next step of this program will be the in-person meeting for your community. Everyone who lives and works in the area is invited to come meet the artist and join this community conversation. The Meeting schedule is as follows:

We hope stakeholders will share this information with your neighbors, and will come to the meeting, bring others, and share your valuable input! The stated goal for each piece of civic art is to reflect and honor the neighborhood’s people and unique character.   

Please come to the meeting to share your thoughts with UP Art Studio and the artist directly. That’s the best way to shape the civic art near you!  If that’s not possible, you may send a brief email with this worksheet, to Elia at info@upartstudio.org.

Currently, we are seeking input from community stakeholders for the themes of the four boxes via this online input formDeadline to submit ideas is Monday, February 25, 2019.

Stage 3 – Final Online Community Input

In this final current stage of the community engagement process, local stakeholders have the opportunity to choose their favorite design via an online input form which will be open Monday, March 18 – Sunday March 25, 2019.

Artist Open Call – NOW CLOSED

The City of Austin and UP Art Studio are inviting artists to bring local flair to Austin streets. 

UP Art Studio has opened a call for artists, inviting local Austin artists to submit their qualifications for the opportunity to create an artbox, or mini mural on a signal cabinet. The deadline is Sunday, Dec. 30, 2018, 11:59 PM.  Applications will be reviewed, and qualifying artists accepted, to create a registry of artists available for this opportunity and future projects managed by UP Art Studio.

UP Art Studio uses the JotForm platform for submissions.  This is easy to use; you simply fill out the requested information and upload each document as a PDF or JPG.  However, please test its use well before the application deadline as late submissions will not be accepted.
