Usagi Wasabi

Wendy Delgado is a native Houstonian who loves to tell a story with her illustrations. Given the opportunity at a young age to appreciate the arts, her mother ensured her creativity was continuously fueled with ballet and piano lessons. Throughout high school she continued to pursue music and began exploring photography and diversifying her skill in a variety of art mediums. While studying fashion design for college, she discovered her passion for illustration and love for watercolors. In 2011, she established her own design brand and began selling fashion accessories at local trade shows. Learning the ropes of running a small business, she began to grow the courage to finally sell her original artwork, and in 2015 she established Usagi Wasabi. With her artist moniker, she cultivated her skills in illustration and set a goal to bring her art to the public. Her works now include an expansive portfolio or works in watercolor, acrylic, relief printmaking, and gouache. Public art has quickly become her favorite form of expression as it brings about a positive energy from those who experience it.
