Avery O.

Avery Houser Orendorf is an Austin-based muralist, illustrator and dabbler in the Fine Arts. She lives with her husband and two sons south of the river where she spends her days designing, painting, playing and doing more laundry than she’d like to talk about. She hates cooking dinner and believes that a 100% taco diet is completely acceptable. Avery jumped feet first into the art world on a whim. She is self-taught through plenty of practice and hustle. She has managed in a few short years to develop a style of art that is whimsical, distinct and recognizable.

Avery’s hand-painted and hand-drawn graphics utilize clean line work, strong color combos and repeating patterns to create intricate but simple art pieces with a deep story potential. Characters and scenery are often layered into her work. Many of her murals start as simple illustrations that morph into full scale mural concepts as the process and positive energy take over the narrative as the driving force. Avery’s ultimate goal in all of her work is to express joy and the playful spirit of her community.
